Description: This presentation will shine a light on the foods and nutrients to prioritize for optimal brain health. Drawing from the book Power Foods for the Brain by Neal Barnard MD, FACC, the presentation will guide participants through the research supporting a plant forward diet for maintaining brain function and minimizing risk for cognitive decline. The class features a cooking demonstration of delicious recipes made from a selection of brain power foods, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes participants can prepare at home.

• Explore vitamins and nutrients that support brain health.
Examine supplements to add to your daily routine and those to avoid.

 

About Our Speaker:

Speaker - Marilyn Hall

Marilyn has been passionate about the connection between food and health for most of her adult life. From baking as a child to preparing nutritious meals for her family using recipes passed down from generations, she has always believed that the foods we eat shape our health journey. No longer bound by restrictive eating patterns, Marilyn embraces the abundance and variety of whole foods without calorie counting or fad diets. She has found true joy and freedom in a plant-based lifestyle and is passionate about sharing that freedom with others.

In 2015, after watching the documentary Forks Over Knives, Marilyn made a life-changing transition to plant-based living. Since then, she has expanded her expertise through extensive education and training, including a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell, the Rouxbe Online Culinary School Plant-Based Professional Certificate, a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching from Duke Health, and national board certification through the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Marilyn is passionate about helping others discover the vitality, empowerment, and lasting wellness that can come from simple, practical plant-based lifestyle changes.
