Book Club Meeting Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
How is the book club meeting structured
? Each meeting has a facilitator who guides the discussion. Order your breakfast and after brief announcements, we'll begin the discussion. We have created a list of questions as a guide for our discussion. At the end of the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to nominate new books and will vote on the next book selection.
What is the cost
? There is no cost. Please register for the event through the Chapter's website like you do for all events but there is no cost for this event. Your only cost is your breakfast and the book.
How are books selected
? Book club members are encouraged to nominate books based on specific criteria: It must be relevant to project management, the book cannot cost more than $30 or have more than 300 pages. At each meeting, attendees will vote on nominated books. Your first choice will receive two points and your second choice will receive one point. The book with the most points wins.
NEW!! How many PDUs can I earn
? You can earn PDUs by simply reading the book. Under the new CCRS guidelines, reading is it's own category ("Education - Read"). You can earn up to three (3) PDUs for reading the book selection. You will also earn one (1) "Informal Learning" PDUs for attending the meeting. One volunteer will earn an additional "Giving Back - Volunteering" PDU for writing a book review or facilitating the meeting. The alignment to the Talent Triangle will vary based on the book selection. Please note that "Giving Back" PDUs has a maximum allowed per certification cycle.
