Lean Six Sigma is a philosophy of changing culture through a standardized and consistent method of probelm solving. In recent years, these Lean Six Sigma tools have been introduced to Program Management in a revised framework. This presentation will investigate how Lean Six Sigma can be used in Project Management to eliminate resistance to change.
Jazz Patterson is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt at Texas Health Resources. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University and an Advanced Master Certification of Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University. His career in Lean Six Sigma began at Vought Aircraft Industries in Dallas, TX where he worked for 9 years to improve the efficiency of products such as the V-22 Osprey, CH-47 Blackhawk Helicopter, and the Airbus A320. In 2008, he transitioned to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas where he later became the manager of the Operational and Clinical Excellence department, a group of Lean Six Sigma Black Belts charged to promote and grow the hospital's culture of continuous improvement. Over the 18 years of his career, he has contributed to the Lean Six Sigma certification and mentoring of more than 1,200 employees in both the manufacturing and healthcare industries.
