Last July, Nikki Choyce, PMP spoke to a sold out crowd on MSProject. If you did not have an opportunity to take that course, you will want plan on joining us for this workshop.
NOTE: We will have 25 workstations loaded with MSProject 2007. If you prefer, you may bring your own laptop computer to this workshop.
Workshop Description:
Title: Understanding how to work with MSProject®
MSProject® is a powerful scheduling tool and there are several things that you need to know in order to make it work for you. Join us to learn some tips from the school of hard knocks and what NOT to do in Project. This is considered to be at least an intermediate level course and it is assumed that participants already have a working knowledge of Project’s functionality.
What you will learn in this workshop:
1. Four tips that never appear in any Project documentation.
2. The importance of default settings. A full review of the 100+ default settings and the impact they will have on your project. You will also learn which defaults you will want to change based on which phase of your project you are currently working on.
3. Best practices for setting up your task list (WBS)
4. Really understanding Tables, Views and Forms
5. Differences in features between Project 2000, 2003 and 2007
We will have access to a computer lab with 25 workstations for this course. Participants are also welcome to bring their own computers with Project installed to use during the workshop.
